Sleek Brow + Contour Kit

Yesterday I made two amazing purchases from Superdrug. I got myself two Sleek products that I am loving right now. I tried them out straight away when I got home and this morning and, WOW, they are soo good! I couldnt understand what all the fuss was about, but now I totally agree that these two products are literally amazing.

The First product I bought was the Sleek Brow Kit in the shade Dark (818). I didn't intend on purchasing this product in this shade but my mum was distracting me and rather than picking up light I picked up Dark.

Packaging
For saying this product is not in the correct shade for me it looks really nice and natural on my brows which shocked my slightly. I have decided to start filling in my eyebrows as I have just had a side fringe cut after years of having a full fringe, so I needed something like this to enhance my brows, and it certainly does.

If I'm honest the only bad thing about this product is that its a pain to get off, and when you eventually scrub your eyebrows off your face they are left all stuck up with a waxy texture left on them. Don't get me wrong this product does work really well but once its been worn for the day you may think differently.

This problem could be the same with all eyebrow kits so you can never be too picky, I mean it actually does define your brows really well. (I might just be being picky)

Inside the kit

When I first opened this product I thought that both sides were gel based until I looked closer and realized that the lighter shade is actually more of a powder base. Being a powder base doesn't put me off in the slightest as it gives me control over how much product I want to apply to my brows.

The kit comes with three tools (clearly I have used one of them already)
The tools are so easy to use and they don't waste any product as it all goes onto the brows very easily. I love this product and for £8.49 I feel as though it was a real bargain as I know this product will last me a very long time.

The next product I picked up was the Sleek Face Form Contouring And Blush Pallet, and I did pick the light shade this time round!

Packaging (sorry I couldn't flip the image)

Inside the product

When I first saw the product colors I was reasonably surprised. The blush looked a little bright at first and I thought to myself "I can't pull that off" but its such a lovely color on the cheeks and I'm loving it.
I think the blush in this set will look great in the summer as it gives a bright dewy effect on the cheeks and it enhances my eyes which shocked me quite a bit. I have blue eyes if anybody wanted to try this to make their eyes pop like mine did when I tried this.
Again for the price, this is a very good product at £9.99, I can see it lasting me ages which I cant really complain about. The colors will last throughout the year if you style them correctly according to the season. All in all a great buy

The only down side with the contouring kit was that the highlighter just doesn't seem to agree with my skin tone and makes me look overly shiny. I have very pale skin you see. I feel as though the highlighter is too shimmery so I don't think I will be using it as much as the blusher and the bronzer

Pros And Cons Of Becoming A Vegetarian

Today I wanted to address some issues that people may have with wanting to become a vegetarian or wanting a little bit of information about the positive points and some of the negative points by choosing this way of life.

Being a vegetarian is viewed both ways, it can either be a bad thing or a good thing. Younger people may consider becoming a vegetarian but are constantly aware of the consequences and issues it could bring regarding family life. I am my a vegetarian myself but I have thought about it on numerous occasions and thought it would be a nice topic to touch upon as it can be sensitive to some people.

So what exactly is a vegetarian? A vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat or fish, and sometimes other animal products, especially for moral, religious, or health reasons. In this day and age animal products can be found everywhere which is why so many people are converting themselves and becoming vegetarian, you can even find animal produce in sweets!!

Anyway here are my pros for becoming a vegetarian:
A veggie diet is said to provide a more healthful form of iron than from a meat-based diet. Studies have shown that heme iron found in red meat can give you an increased risk of colon and rectal cancer, and that vegetarian sources of iron like greens and beans contain non-heme iron.

A vegetarian diet conserves water. Try digesting this information.. It takes around 2,500 gallons of water to produce only one pound of beef, and around 660 gallons of water to make a pound of chicken. That's a lot of water right? It only takes 220 gallons to make a pound of tofu and 180 to make a pound of wheat flour.

It has been said that it is cruel to unethically kill animals for food when vegetarian options are available. People argue that animals, as well as humans, have emotions and social connections. Studies have shown that cattle, pigs, chickens and all warm-blooded animals can experience pain, stress and fear. People believe animals should not have to die to satisfy an unnecessary dietary preference. In the United States alone around 35 million cows, 9 billion birds and 115 million pigs are killed for food each year.

Now onto my cons on becoming a vegetarian:
Eating meat is a natural part of the cycle of life, it is not cruel or unethical. Every organism on this planet dies or is killed at some point so other organisms can live. It is how nature works.

Becoming a vegetarian can cause the death of animals too. A study by Steven Davis shows about six animals per acre, or 52-77% of the animals that live in agricultural crap fields are killed during harvest. These are mainly birds, mice and rabbits.

Meat isthe the most convenient source of protein available. In a single serving of meat it provides all the essential nutrients such as zinc, iron and B vitamins.

They are the pros and cons of becoming a vegetarian. I have always wanted to become a vegetarian, and I am very aware of how animals all over the world are treated for their meat source. It is difficult for me to make a final decision on confirming whether I should become vegetarian or not as it would affect my families lifestyle greatly. I understand both sides, however I am not totally convinced with the statement "it is not cruel or unethical" as I have seen so  many videos showing me different.

The meat industry is very cruel which is why I have pondered over this subject for many years now. I hope this has helped or given an insight on different perspectives of becoming a vegetarian.

Everyday Makeup

By looking at the title of this post you will probably know what I'm going to be discussing. These are some of my daily makeup essentials that I use everyday for day to day wear. These are some of the topics you will be expecting from my blog and I would love to receive feedback on other topics you would like me to discuss and review :)

Skin

I have two foundations from the same brand that I use daily. I switch them up depending on how my skin feels and looks on particular days. I have very dry skin most of the time so I try to stay away from high coverage foundations as much as possible. The main foundation I use is Rimmel London Lasting finish 25hour.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hour Foundation
£7.99

I'm not going to lie but I have always loved this foundation as it is so easy to blend into the skin and gives an even coverage all over. Unlike most foundations this actually comes in my color which is perfect as I don't want to look like an orange when I go out. I have tried so many different foundations in the past and this foundation covers spots, redness and dark circles! It does give a medium coverage and has a rather heavy constancy, so I tend not to wear so much in the summer months unless I really need the coverage. When I am not using this foundation I use Rimmel London  Match Perfection to give me a lighter coverage if I'm having a good skin day or if I just feel like using it.
Rimmel London Match Perfection
£7.99
I also use the Match Perfection foundation when my skin is feeling really dry and flaky. The reason for this is purely because I don't want to be applying something to my face which is going to enhance my dry skin and make it look far worse than what it actually is. This foundation is great in the summer months as it is very light weight and is not as heavy as the 25hour foundation. It is also very easy to build up if there are any imperfections that you would like to hide but I find that concealers usually hide most of my imperfections for me. I think both of these foundations are great value for money as they both give a great coverage and they are not too heavy for dry skin.

The next product I will be talking about is concealer. I only use one concealer because I have found one that is so so sooo fabulous I wouldn't change it for the world. The concealer I use is the Rimmel London Match Perfection Illuminating Concealer, and can I just say... WOW!
Rimmel London Match Perfection Illuminating Concealer
£5.99
I will admit that for a concealer it is pretty pricey, however it lasts me ages and gives a great coverage which also illuminates my skin and makes me look more awake. I usually apply this before foundation as it gives me a nice glow and looks great either under or over foundation so it doesn't really matter when its applied.I honestly cant explain how good this concealer is because words do not do it justice! I would say this is a must have for anyone's collection.

Moving onto blusher now. I used to purchase typical drugstore blushers from the Natural Collection and Rimmel but a few months back I had discovered a brand called Elf and I have loved it ever since. After purchasing my Elf blusher I fell in love and it would take some convincing for me to change back to drugstore blushes. The blusher I currently use is the Baked Blush in Rich Rose.
Baked Blush - Rich Rose
£3.95
It gives off such a beautiful pink color on the cheeks and isn't too over powering like some baked blushes out in the market. It has a slight shimmer to it but again it doesn't overdo itself on the skin, and gives off a natural dewy appearance. A bonus is that this blusher is not expensive at all so I would highly recommend Elf Cosmetics to anyone with a tight budget. Another product I use from Elf is their Liquid Eyeliner.

Elf Liquid Eyeliner
£1.95
Again this product is very cheap and does an excellent job and lasts throughout the day. It is so easy to apply to the lid of the eye and has a very easy application process. I am on the fence with swapping this eyeliner for something more gel based, but all in all this is a very easy product to use and I would recommend it to anybody.

Next is mascara, and I'm all for high end mascaras however I always think that they just do the same job as less pricey mascaras. The type of mascara I use is the Natural Collection Lash Length Mascara.
Natural Collection Lash Length Mascara
£1.99

Again this product is very cost effective and works a treat on my lashes. Not only does is lengthen my lashes but it enhances them and really makes my eyes pop. For £1.99 I would say this is a bargain for anyone and it typically does the same as other high end mascaras. I always repurchase this mascara and I cant see myself swapping it out anytime soon.

Lastly onto lips. I don't use any lipsticks on my lips daily as I have never had the confidence to do so. I always stick to balms and I have recently started using balms with a little tint to them to add color to my lips. The Product I have been using and loving is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me.
Maybelline Baby Lips - Cherry Me
£2.99
This product lasts me months and months and I'm just starting a fresh one now. The color it gives on the lips is gorgeous and lasts throughout the day, even if the glossy texture disappears. Its feels so moisturizing on the lips and the application of the product is very easy. I tend to use a lip brush rather than applying the product straight to my lip as it defines the outline of my lip shape more. I would definitely recommend this if anyone was looking for more of a tint to their lips rather than a lip gloss/shiney texture.

So they are the products I use everyday on my face for normal day to day wear. If you have any requests or questions do not be afraid to ask me, and if you want me to review any products please let me know.

Thank you,
Emily :)
